Hornet Makeover

Earlier this year, we were asked to  rebuild a Hornet for Chris Bines and Dave Gibbons’ Hornet to sail in the European Championships. Massive changes were made with the old deck and crew deck removed and new full side-length tanks fitted. The new redesigned dinghy came 2nd at Thorpe Bay’s 2018 Championships. Read about the event here.

The gallery below shows photos of the Hornets remodelling.

New National 12

We have just started the new Paradigm 4 National 12 for Gavin Willis. We are building this in carbon/foam over a male mould. More information to follow but expect something radical!

Hadron Update!

The Hadron Class is now up to 37 boats! Check out the H2 website for up-to-date news and the history of the design.

We are continuing to develop and refine our construction and fit out. Hoping to pass the 50 boat mark in 2019!

National 12 performing well

The new Dead Cat Bounce 4-planker has been performing extremely well and appears fully competitive. Owner Stuart Walsh kindly leant the boat to David Conlon and Sarah Bines for Burton Week, the class’s National Championships, at Brightlingsea Sailing Club. Despite having very little time in the boat prior to the event, they finished a very creditable 9th overall in a very competitive fleet, including a 6th and an 8th on the final day. This performance was even more impressive given the fact that they were using some pretty tired sails. They won the Arrows Trophy for best performance overall by a first-time helm. National 12 at Dinghy Show

The new Dead Cat Bounce 4-planker was displayed on the National 12 Owner’s Association stand at Alexandra Palace in March. Below are a few photos taken at the show, as well as some taken during the final stages of the build

‘Never Say Never’ on the water

BOD C56 ‘Never Say Never’ is now afloat and owner Geoff Gritton has been getting some very promising results indeed in his first season. Geoff has had a number of handicap race wins at Brightlingsea Sailing Club, and took 5th overall at Pyefleet week in the  ultra-competitive BOD class. All of the innovations we incorporated into the build have been entirely successful. Thanks to Fiona Brown and Tim Bees for their additional photos.
